IFTTT – it is like middleware for your online life
Once upon a time the internet was a more innocent place. It was easy to access content through tools like RSS, common file formats and open APIs. These days? Not so much.
Enter: IFTTT, with its simple If This Then That mini-macros, you can gain some control over the various online services you use. Want to move tagged photos of you from Facebook to Flickr? Done! Synchronize DropBox with SkyDrive? easy! All of this can be done through the web.
There is also an iPhone app that allows you to use some interesting location-based mashup uses. For instance, SMS someone whenever you leave work or keep a record of when you go to the gym (*ahem*) in you Calendar.
Here’s hoping they keep adding more channels and additional platform apps!
